Randy Gee

Born and raised in Stockton, California, Randy's musical journey began with his first guitar lesson at age ten. By fifteen, he had become a skilled electric bassist, stepping up to fill a void in his high school jazz band. Randy's dedication and passion for music led him to USC, where he studied with renowned guitarist Jimmy Stewart and thrived as a member of jazz ensembles, including The Lakers' Band. In 1983, he earned his BA in Music History and Literature.

However, Randy's path took an unexpected turn when he faced mounting student loan debt. He shifted gears into education, obtaining his teaching credential in 1987. For over three decades, he served as an elementary, middle school, and computer lab teacher in the Long Beach Unified School District before retiring in 2022.

In 1988, Randy found spiritual fulfillment when he embraced Christianity. This led him to join the worship ministry at Calvary Chapel South Bay, where he continues to serve. He also plays bass with the NKJV Blues Band and collaborates with local Hawaiian musicians in the South Bay. A fortuitous Craigslist ad in 2022 introduced him to Carla D & The B-Side, ultimately securing his position as their bassist. From that moment on his musical journey took an exciting new direction.
